Thailand. The facility, which will serve as the headquarters factory for Thai Nihon Shokken, an overseas local subsidiary, marks the company’s sixth facility outside Japan. With a total investment of 2.8 billion yen, the plant aims to start operations in January 2025, to meet the increasing demand in Thailand and supply products across Southeast Asia.
In the fiscal year 2023, the consolidated sales of the Nihon Shokken Group reached a record high of 137.7 billion yen, up 110% from the previous period. Overseas business sales amounted to 15.8 billion yen, marking a 1.7-fold increase over the past five years and driving the group’s growth. The company plans to further accelerate investment in overseas operations, with plans to establish 13 new sales bases over the next two years. Additionally, in terms of production facilities, after the expansion of the US factory following the construction of the second phase in Thailand, the company plans to construct its first new factory in Europe.
The site area of the new Thai plant is 51,924 square meters, with a total floor area of 5,685 square meters and a building area of 4,070 square meters. It is a three-story reinforced concrete (partially steel-frame) building. Construction began on November 1, 2023, with completion scheduled for October 2024, and operations set to commence in January 2025. The initial investment is approximately 2.8 billion yen.”
