SHIMIZU Corporation, Signed a basic agreement on comprehensive collaboration for the realization of a carbon-neutral society.

Waseda University (located in Shinjuku, Tokyo, President: Aiji Tanaka) and Shimizu Corporation (located in Chuo, Tokyo, President: Kazuyuki Inoue) announced today that they have signed a basic agreement on comprehensive collaboration towards achieving a carbon-neutral society.

This agreement between Waseda University and Shimizu Corporation aims to jointly create new values and solve societal and industrial issues towards realizing a carbon-neutral society, leveraging cutting-edge technology and knowledge through industry-academia collaboration. To achieve this, both parties will engage in joint research and development, exchange and training of personnel related to research and education, development of new technologies, support for startups, mutual use of facilities, and cooperation in organizing events.

Waseda University and Shimizu Corporation have united to advance a carbon-neutral society, aligning on pivotal areas like advanced technology research, talent development, and environmental innovation. Their collaboration, rooted in shared environmental visions, aims to tackle decarbonization, resource circulation, and coexistence with nature, with initiatives expanding from joint research in Zero Energy Building (ZEB) and metaverse technologies to broader academic and entrepreneurial support. Their efforts underscore a commitment to sustainability, positioning the partnership as a beacon for future societal contributions.
